Mentoring Servant-Leaders

The vision of Synergy Leadership is "working together to transform our world through the gospel." We are unashamed in our proclamation of the gospel of Christ. We believe that it is at the core of our identity. The gospel, in all of its multifaceted imagery, is the means of the transformation of our world.

Our mission is to mentor servant-leaders to love God's worth, live out God's Word in community, and liberate God's world.

What is the significance of the name "Synergy Leadership"? The word "synergy" derives from the Greek word "sunergos." It means "working together." Paul uses it 1 Corinthians 3:9 "We are co-workers belonging to God." He also uses it 2 Corinthians 1:24 "Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith." John uses it in 3 John 1:8 "Therefore we ought to support such people, so that we become co-workers in cooperation with the truth."

The definition of the English word "synergy" is "the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects." That which we accomplish through our mutual efforts will always be greater than the sum of our separate efforts.

Our mission is to train leaders. This is the model that Christ utilized. We must flesh out what is means to be Christ-like in various contexts and teach others to do so as well. The result is an incarnational model, a paradigm that is described in Philippians 2:5-11.

This concept of synergy is at the heart of what we would like to accomplish through Synergy Leadership. It is an organization that is passionate about networking together to announce in word and work the reign of Christ. In so doing, we can transform the world through the gospel, one servant-leader at a time.

Making Christ-Centered Disciples

The core of our ministry is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20). Our Lord Jesus Christ has commanded us to be his witnesses in our local communities as well as to the ends of the earth. It is our desire to see men and women "rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith" (Col 2:7). Knowing Christ is our priority above all. It saturates all that we hope to accomplish. Therefore, we must help individuals cultivate a strong spiritual formation base. One way of accomplishing this is to invite young adults to join us for a one-year program of intensive spiritual formation.

Mentoring Church Planters

A second core value is that of mentoring church planters. Our Lord Jesus said, "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt 16:18). Knowing Christ is reflected in becoming like him and focusing our lives on his mission. Our goal is to mentor individuals who are passionate about the church because he purchased it with his own blood (Acts 20:28). This will be accomplished by providing theological education matched with practical ministry training in the local church.

Mobilizing Resources to Establish Churches

The ultimate goal of spiritual formation and the mentoring process is the establishment of local churches. Out of our knowing Christ, we want to develop a number of creative ways to make Christ known. We would like to develop platforms that reach into communities for the purpose of initiating church plants. These platforms will essentially consist of various ways to demonstrate the love of Christ. Community developers will partner with church planters for the cause of Christ. Please read about our strategic paradigm shift!
